Surprise it's a girl!

Yes we are having another girl. I thought for sure it was a boy in fact during the ultrasound I thought I kept seeing testicles :) haha but it must have been something else. Her heartbeat has always been in the 140s and today it was 138 so that was another indicator to me that it was for sure a boy. She was sleeping and didn't move a whole lot, even though she was being pushed on, I wonder if that's a good indicator that she will be a heavy sleeper(fingers crossed). She had her legs crossed the whole time so it was really hard for us to get a good look. The tech was pushing on her and wiggling my belly to try and get her to move and she wouldn't budge. So the tech had me turn to my side to see if we could get her to change her position, after a good 5 min. or so she finally uncrossed her legs for a second so we could take a peak. I was completly shocked when the tech announced that it was in fact a little girl. Ross actually saw it first and was so excited he says "it's a girl see the three lines" he's a proud daddy what can I say. It's funny how I never thought I would get a girl and now I will have 2. We are very excited! We have thought about names a little bit but we haven't decided on any yet. Here's a little sneak peak at our baby girl due March 29

kindof a front profile view
hand with her thumb sticking out
profile-it looks like this one has my nose. Hannah's was round and this one looks a little more pointy
A 3D shot that they did for us. They are more clear when they get more fat on them so it's hard to see. Her head is on the right if you look closely you can see her eyes, nose, mouth and her little hand curled up.

Halloween

Hannah was a duck this year. I bought this costume at a big consignment sale here that happens twice a year here. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it and what was even better was that it was only 8 bucks. My favorite thing about it was the tail. It actually moved side to side when she walked, it was so freakin' cute! Anyways we started the night off with going to Nana and Papa Redfearn's big Halloween bash. They go all out every year. They transform their garage into an eating/party area, they have blow up decorations that all the kids love and they always have lots of food to enjoy. Which is a huge plus for the pregnant people :) We also have some pinata fun
and donut eating contest without using your hands, for the kids of course. Then we ended the night with trick or treating door to door. Hannah isn't smiling in alot of these because I couldn't get her attention long enough to take a very good picture, just too much going on for her to stop and take a picture.

The Chicken and the duck (aka Joshua Redfearn)

Just Hannah being cute

I gave Hannah some chips the other day and this is what I saw when I came back in the room.

She carries these animals (little people) everywhere in her bucket. She loves them. I guess they have to eat too right?
This one cracks me up. Not only are most of them eating around the bowl but the ones who aren't are in a line. I just had to share!

Wicked and Zombie Crawl

Last weekend we had the opportunity to go see Wicked here in Denver. A big, big thank you to Trent and Courtney (brother and sister in law for those who don't know them) for giving us the tickets to go. We had amazing seats, three rows from the stage! I wish I could have taken pictures, but of course they don't let you. I had heard of people not liking Wicked and they said it was a waste of money so I was never that interested in seeing it. Now that I have seen I don't know how you couldn't love it unless you don't like musicals and I love musicals! It was awesome and amazing! If you ever have the opportunity to go I highly recommend this play. Afterwards we were walking around downtown and we noticed people everywhere we dressed as Zombies. I tried to capture some of these people on my phone camera but I couldn't get a clear shot. So I found some of these pictures online a couple days later. Apparently here they gather every year to do a Zombie Crawl. They were trying to get 4000 Zombies to walk the long 16th street mall, I don't know what their actually number was but it was impressive to see how many people showed up for this. People actually dressed up their small kids and babies as Zombies. They also got together at one point and did Michael Jackson's Thriller dance. Then we decided to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe and the waiters were dressed as Zombies. Oh the things you see living in the big city! Warning: if you have small eyes around you may want to divert their attention to something else before you look at these pictures!

A little bit of everything

I haven't felt like blogging lately and there really hasn't been anything all that interesting going on here. So yesterday someone at church gave us a toddler bed. I have been wanting one for some time now. I actually had a really good one but I gave it to some friends because I thought Hannah would actually sleep in her big girl bed, which she never did, she chose the floor instead. So she has been sleeping on her floor for over 3 months now which is hard for us because she likes to put her pillow and blankets right in front of the door so I can't ever close it. So during nap times and night time my house completely shuts down and we have to be quiet so she can sleep. So last night Ross and I assembled her new bed, rearranged her room so that everything would fit. I was just hoping that after all of this work that she would actually sleep in it. Well she did!! I was so excited. She slept on it all night long. Today for nap she played until she got tired and then went to her bed and fell asleep. I know it doesn't seem like much but it a huge success for us.
So comfy! She normally wakes up a couple times a night, but not last night! I was able to get a good night's sleep (well as good as you can get being pregnant) without waking up to crying or her wanting a drink. It was Heaven!

it's laundry day today so that's why she's in her jammies
Hannah was so excited to see snow this year she wanted to go outside, don't worry she was only out there for a few seconds
My poor baby! This is Hannah at her cousin Abby's birthday party a few weeks ago. This was not a good day for us. Hannah was sick and had a fever so being outside in the heat just for a few minutes was just not a good idea. Plus she had just fallen asleep in my arms when someone took her from me to take this picture, so she wasn't a happy camper! This is all of her cousins that live here and her Nana and Papa Redfearn.
As for the pregnancy...everything is going good so far. We are 17 weeks so that means we only have three more weeks until we find out what we're having! I'm so excited! I hope it goes really fast. This pregnancy has been going fairly fast too, probably b/c this time I have a toddler to take care of, doesn't leave too much down time. I think that we are having a boy and Ross is convinced we are having another girl. He only thinks that b/c he thinks that he is cursed and will be the only one of his brothers to not have any boys. I am okay with either one, but I am secretly excited about having a boy though. He will be the first grandson on my side. But only time will tell. I think that's about it. Hopefully it won't be another month before another post.

Just Pictures

I feel like I haven't posted in forever! We haven't been doing a whole lot, so I thought I would post some cute pictures of Hannah. We had a good Labor day weekend. We went to Pirates Cove ( a really fun water park here) and had a family BBQ this weekend, but none of these pictures are from this weekend. Enjoy!

I guess she played too hard and fell asleep

trying on daddy's socks, she did this all by herself
playing with playdough
concentrating to do it "all by herself"
Pretty smile for the camera
Video: We had a movie night last weekend and we watched Narnia(the first one) and Hannah went crazy when she saw all the wolves at the White Witch's castle when they were going to the Beaver's house. Sorry the lighting isn't very good it was night time and we only have one lamp.

Truisms

Last night I was looking at my husband's old missionary companions blog and they had this posted. I read it and thought it was pretty funny. So thanks to the Lewis family for letting me read their blog hope you don't mind that I stole this. Enjoy!

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
.
I don't understand the purpose of the line, "I don't need to drink to have fun." Great, no one does. But why start a fire with flint and sticks when they've invented the lighter?
.
Have you ever been walking down the street and realized that you're going in the complete opposite direction of where you are supposed to be going? But instead of just turning a 180 and walking back in the direction from which you came, you have to first do something like check your watch or phone or make a grand arm gesture and mutter to yourself to ensure that no one in the surrounding area thinks you're crazy by randomly switching directions on the sidewalk.
.
I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.
.
The letters T and G are very close to each other on a keyboard. This recently became all too apparent to me and consequently I will never be ending a work email with the phrase "Regards" again.
.
Is it just me, or are 80% of the people in the "people you may know" feature on Facebook people that I do know, but deliberately choose not to be friends with?
.
There is a great need for sarcasm font.
.
Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what was going on when I first saw it.
.
I think everyone has a movie that they love so much, it actually becomes stressful to watch it with other people. I'll end up wasting 90 minutes shiftily glancing around to confirm that everyone's laughing at the right parts, then making sure I laugh just a little bit harder (and a millisecond earlier) to prove that I'm still the only one who really, really gets it.
.
How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?
.
I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.
.
I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.
.
The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.
.
"Lol" has gone from meaning "laugh out loud" to "I have nothing else to say".
.
I have a hard time discerning the fine line between boredom and hunger.
.
Whenever someone says "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart", all I hear is "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart".
.
How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear what they said?
.
I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars teams up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers!
.
Every time I have to spell a word over the phone using 'as in' examples, I will undoubtedly draw a blank and sound like a complete idiot. Today I had to spell my boss's last name to an attorney and said "Yes that's G as in...(10 second lapse)..ummm...Goonies".
.
While driving yesterday I saw a banana peel in the road and instinctively swerved to avoid it...thanks Mario Kart.
.
MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
.
Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.
.
I find it hard to believe there are actually people who get in the shower first and THEN turn on the water.
.
Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.
.
I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.
.
Bad decisions make good stories.
.
Whenever I'm Facebook stalking someone and I find out that their profile is public I feel like a kid on Christmas morning who just got the Red Ryder BB gun that I always wanted. 546 pictures? Don't mind if I do!
.
Is it just me or do high school girls get sluttier & sluttier every year?
.
If Carmen San Diego and Waldo ever got together, their offspring would probably just be completely invisible.
.
Why is it that during an ice-breaker, when the whole room has to go around and say their name and where they are from, I get so incredibly nervous? Like I know my name, I know where I'm from, this shouldn't be a problem....
.
You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you've made up your mind that you just aren't doing anything productive for the rest of the day.
.
Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after DVDs? I don't want to have to restart my collection.
.
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.
.
I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my huge document that I swear I did not make any changes to.
.
"Hand wash only" means I will never wash this, ever.
.
I hate being the one with the remote in a room full of people watching TV. There's so much pressure. 'I love this show, but will they judge me if I keep it on? I bet everyone is wishing we weren't watching this. It's only a matter of time before they all get up and leave the room. Will we still be friends after this?'
.
While watching the Olympics, I find myself cheering equally for China and USA. No, I am not of Chinese descent, but I am fairly certain that when Chinese athletes don't win, they are executed.
.
I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Dammit!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and runaway?
.
I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.
.
I like all of the music on my Ipod, except when it's on shuffle, then I like about one in every fifteen songs.
.
Why is a school zone 15 mph? That seems like the optimal cruising speed for pedophiles...
.
As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate cyclists.
.
Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.
.
It should probably be called Unplanned Parenthood.
.
I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.
.
Even if I knew your social security number, I wouldn't know what do to with it.
.
The other night I ordered takeout, and when I looked in the bag, saw they had included four sets of plastic silverware. In other words, someone at the restaurant packed my order, took a second to think about it, and then estimated that there must be at least four people eating to require such a large amount of food. Too bad I was eating by myself. There's nothing like being made to feel like a fatty before dinner.
.
Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the Snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time every time...
.
It really ticks me off when I want to read a story on CNN.com and the link takes me to a video instead of text.
.
I wonder if cops ever get ticked at the fact that everyone they drive behind obeys the speed limit.
.
What would happen if I hired two private investigators to follow each other?
.
My four year old son asked me the other day in the car "Mom, what would happen if you ran over a ninja?" How do I respond to that?
.
Was learning cursive really necessary?
.
More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can think about is that I can’t wait for them to finish so that I can tell my own story that’s not only better, but also more directly involves me.
.Do you remember when you were a kid, playing Nintendo and it wouldn't work? You take the cartridge out, blow in it and that would magically fix the problem. Every kid in America did that, but how did we all know how to fix the problem? There was no internet or message boards or faq's. We just figured it out. Today's kids are soft.
